Every few hundred years, empires rise and fall. Each historical period may have contributed to the geopolitical-economic circumstances of the time, besides the inner socio-anthropological complexities of the respective era and their rise and downfall. Today, we do not use the language of “empires” but other palatable euphemisms. As the modern economy demands more and different energy sources, outer space is a new place for conquest.
